Hey folks, I was thinking about casting stainless steel with aluminum. Would such a process be feasible or safe?

is correct, stainless steel and aluminum have different melting points. Aluminum melts between 600 and 660 C, while stainless steel melts around 1510 C. Be careful!

There's also the possibility of galvanic corrosion. This can occur when two dissimilar metals come into contact in an electrolyte. Stainless steel and aluminum could be at risk for this.
